Introduction

Day 1 - Nonorganic Chemistry

Day 1 - Nonorganic Chemistry

  • National-level excellent student exam for high school students
  • Organized by the Ministry of Education and Training
  • Held from December to January every year
  • 2 exam sessions with a total of 40-point scale for Chemistry
  • covers specialized chemistry knowledge at university level

  • 6 challenging free-response questions
  • including general chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, coordination chemistry, etc.
  • 180 mins in late December
  • Large amount of computation, especially in multiple-equilibria
  • more challenging than most years' IChO theoretical exam

Day 2 - Organic Chemistry

Day 1 - Nonorganic Chemistry

Day 2 - Organic Chemistry

  • 5 challenging free-response questions in organic chemistry and 1 challenging nonorganic question
  • 180 mins in late December
  • mainly about structure deduction based on reaction charts
  • much more challenging than IChO's organic questions
